    DCEDC Selects Consultants for Adjustment Plan

    The Door County Economic Development Corporation recently announced the selection of NorthStar Economics and Grant Thornton LLP as consultants for the Door County Economic Development Adjustment Plan currently being undertaken by the County. Through a partnership struck by NorthStar with Grant Thornton, Door County will be able to utilize the expertise of both firms for the data gathering and analysis phases of the Door County plan.

    DCEDC Annouces $1000 Winners
    Geitners Submit Winning Business Plan

    The Door County Economic Development Corporation recently announced that David and Lori Geitner, new owners of the Baileys Sunset Motel and Cottages, are the winners of a $1,000 award for the best business plan originating from the NxLevel Entrepreneurial Training class conducted this past spring.

    Forward Wisconsin's 19th Annual Marketing Mission

    Sam Perlman, Economic Development Manger for DCEDC, was recently part of a team of Wisconsin economic development professionals who traveled to Illinois to speak directly with CEO's of businesses interested in expanding or relocating their firms to the Badger State.

    Exemplary Employer Awards
    Bay Shipbuilding Company and Hatco Corporation Honored

    Two Door County employers were recently recognized by Governor Jim Doyle as among the best companies to work for in Wisconsin. On behalf of Governor Doyle, Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton and Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Roberta Gassman presented Bay Shipbuilding Company and Hatco Corporation with Exemplary Employer Awards at the 11th Annual Governor's Workforce Development Conference in Milwaukee. The Door County Economic Development Corporation nominated both companies for the award.

    Expanding Wisconsin Markets Around the World

    Door County Economic Development Corporation was among a proud group of sponsoring members of the International Business Development Consortium of Northeast Wisconsin (IBDC) as Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle awarded the 2004 Export Assistance Award to IBDC on May 18, 2004 in Milwaukee.
