We hope you have all enjoyed the first week of school! Hard to believe summer is over and we are starting a new school year. New PTO Website 
The PTO is proud to announce our new website, www.vfespto.org. Please use this website versus the district website for any PTO related information. The website features a volunteer sign up feature, PayPal link for certain events, PTO forms, chairperson instructions and some helpful parent links. Be sure to check it out and bookmark it! You'll be referring to it often!

Calling all Volunteers! 
There are just a few open PTO Chairperson positions remaining for the 2012-2013 school year and
we are now taking signups for all volunteer and committee opportunities, including Library and Homeroom Parents!
To sign up for a library or homeroom parent position, go to www.vfespto.org and click on "Homeroom & Library" under "Volunteer Form."

To sign up for any other volunteer opportunity or to view position descriptions, click here or go to www.vfespto.org and click on "Volunteer Form". Signups are on-line, but any questions can be directed to Monica Moore at monicamoore@comcast.net. Please sign up by Wednesday, September 12th.

Order Your Directory Online Now!
The school directory will be available later in September, but now is the time to place your order. Please double click on "PTO Store" at www.vfespto.org (or paste http://www.vfespto.org/?page_id=584 in your browser) to order your directory and pay via PayPal. You also can download the order form and pay via check if you like. An order form will be sent home or you can get one under "forms" at www.vfespto.org. Directories are $6. Please make checks out to VFES PTO. Directories will be sent home with your children when they are available. Click here for an article on why you should purchase a school directory!

The Kona Ice truck will be on hand to give out treats at the Back To School Social (near the VFES tennis courts). We hope to see you there!

Gratitude Corner
A huge thank you goes out to Dalia Osman for Chairing the Back to School Teacher Luncheon. She did an amazing job and the teachers enjoyed a fabulous "Egyptian Café" themed lunch. We also appreciate the efforts of the many parents who contributed food to this event.
Fourth grade students Reid Ewasko, Macormick Hunter, Ty Seifert, Jason Look, Aidan Kelly and Megan Marengo provided school tours to our new students two weeks ago. They did an amazing job and made some new friends along the way.
If you've noticed how great the lobby looks with all of the back to school decorations, be sure to thank Karen Seifert and Raquel Hunter for getting the decorations up in time for the new student tours.
Jenni DiMaio once again made red classroom flags for all of our new teachers. When you are in the school, check out the amazing details on those new flags. Thanks Jenni!
Finally, we are grateful to Jeremy Gross for creating our new homeroom and library parent sign up form and our new directory order form on the PTO website. The forms are great and will be a huge help to the PTO.

ConKerr Cancer -- Pillowcase Pajama Party
Please Touch Museum, Friday September 28th from 6-9 PM ConKerr Cancer provides decorative pillowcases to children in the hospital with cancer. The charity was founded after VFES alumnus, Ryan Kerr, lost his battle to cancer. Wear your PJ's to the event and enjoy a dance party, PJ parade and see Pajanimals from Sprout TV. Tickets are $30 for kids and $50 for adults. Click here for a flyer on the event. |
Stoga Showcase of Sound
ThirdAnnual 'Stoga Showcase of Sound - a Main Line Spectacular!!
The Third Annual 'Stoga Showcase of Sound will be held on Saturday evening, November 3, 2012 on our own Teamer Field. Quickly becoming one of the best attended and acclaimed festivals in the Cavalcade circuit, the 'Stoga Showcase of Sound is an evening of performances from high school marching bands from southeastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey. Last year we hosted 15 bands totaling over 1200 student performers witnessed by over 1000 spectators !!
