SKOOOT - Squirrels Keep Out Of Our Trash

We need your help on a student service project to clean up the playground. Fourth grade student Joey Ibarra has taken the initiative to start a fund raising effort to clean up the trash on our school playground. He is collecting donations to go towards metal trash cans with lids to reduce the litter and keep squirrels out of the trash. He is hoping to raise money to buy 8 commercial grade metal trash cans, and an outside organization has agreed to match funds up to the first $1,000 in donations! See the attached link for information on how to donate.

Gratitude Corner

Once again, Karen Seifert and Sondra Zalewski did a great job running the Box Tops collection.  Box Tops are an easy source of revenue for the school and we appreciate it the time it takes to collect and count all of those tops.

Sarah Culbert is our "Art Goes to School" representative this year

and we thank her for coordinating that important program.

If you haven't been in the school lately, Angel McAveney changed the pictures on the "Eyes of a Child" wall in the lobby.  They are beautiful and Angel did an outstanding job taking, developing and hanging all of the pictures.

Jennifer Showers is our InterSchool Council representative and attends all of the meetings on our behalf.  We really appreciate it.

If you have walked in the lobby and wondered how all of the great seasonal decorations get there, that would be the work of Katie Cannizzaro and Allison Hayes.  Thank you for making VFES look so festive!
