T/E School District Budget--

Did You Know?

According to current budget projections, the T/E School District may be bankrupt within four years without major cost cuts, tax increases and/or pension reform now?  Will your kids still be in school? How could this happen in T/E?  Mark your calendars for an important School board Budget Workshop on March 19th at 7:30 p.m. where the School Board, legislators, pension experts and parents will explore the reasons behind and possible solutions to the current pension and budget crises that threaten to change the face of education in T/E.

Gratitude Corner

We had a great time at the Bowling Party at Devon Lanes! All the lanes were filled by chairpersons Kelly Bunting and Crystal Wichard.  They did a great job organizing the event with help from committee members Emma Hua and Julie Frederick.  A big thank you also to all of our parent volunteers: Nancy Marvel, Maria Kim, Pam Bennett, Esther Lee and Rich Casparius.

Our bake sale parent coordinators last week were Sally Selim, Dawn Taylor Storm and Jo Abby Frankel.  Many thanks to these parents for organizing and to the many parents who supplied the great treats.

We are finishing up the winter clubs and would like to thank the following parent coordinators:  Angelica Riley, Stacey Alperin, Brenda Lewandowski, Monica Moore, Laura Wurzer, Adrienne Miller, Michelle Wang and Janet Plastino for coordinating our many clubs.

The Cultural Arts Committee hosted several amazing programs this year coordinated by the following parents:  Donna Costin, Stacey Alperin, Lynne Spangler and Sari Shanken.  Michelle Rossi takes care of event planning and scheduling. Thanks to all of you for your hard work!

Have you checked out the Birthday Bulletin Board in the cafeteria?  The students love to see their name up there for their birthday month!  Many thanks to Karen Seifert and Beth Burns for updating it all year.

Rita Gosnear has been busy getting everything organized for our Music Recording program.  Parent volunteers for each class have started to visit during music class to record each child individually.  Many thanks to Rita for getting everything and everybody ready!

**We forgot to thank Rita for all of her hard work coordinating the collection of funds given to the VFE staff members in December. We would like to thank each of the families that participated with special appreciation to Rita for her hard work.

The Homeroom Parent Coordinators for each grade are an important link for the PTO with the homeroom parents from each class.  Many thanks to Brooke Steines, Lynn Montgomery, Laura Wurzer, Trish McFillin and Wendy Sedlak for acting as coordinators for each grade.
