How Is The PTO Spending Your Direct Donation?
I just wanted to let everyone know that we have been thrilled by the responses to our requests for direct donations to the PTO. To date, we have raised almost $9,000. Some of you may be asking, "Where is the money going"? All money raised each year allows the PTO to run programs, social events and provide much needed educational equipment and services to our school.
Every year, we try to help with some big ticket items that the school needs. If we can raise enough money we would like to purchase one or some part of the items on this list:
-New audio/visual equipment for the cafeteria to replace the
outdated and poorly performing equipment. Preliminary
estimate = $17,200
- Additional SMART Board = $4,300 (includes mounting &
installation costs)
- Large ceiling fans for the gym to help with the
excessive heat = $14,000
The Direct Donation program, Adult Social and Spring Fair are the remaining ways that we will raise funds to meet our goals until the end of the year. Please support these programs and events in as many ways that you can. With the T/E School District in a financial crisis, parent support is more important than ever before. For a detailed PTO financial statement, please email Natalie Sudall at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Raquel Hunter

Art Goes To school Returns to VFES! February 13-17, 2012
Art Goes To School is an art appreciation program specifically designed for young children. The primary purpose is to instill an interest and delight in art, in all its forms and styles and from all historical periods. The AGTS volunteers help children discover for themselves an enjoyment in and an understanding of art, not by lecturing, but by becoming "Art Detectives" who will uncover a whole new way of looking at and appreciating art. We will be playing games that involve poems, a scavenger hunt and fun facts trivia. We hope our program will engage and excite your children and enhance their understanding of all sorts of different art works. Perhaps you might like to sit in on a session to see what we do -- please click on the link for the schedule. Please feel free to contact Sarah Culbert at 610-783-1255 or email her at [email protected] with any other questions.

A HUGE thank you goes out to Frani Aufiero for chairing Pizza Bingo this year. It was a great event and we couldn't have done it without our many parent volunteers: Anne Callis, Angel McAveny, Jennifer Bailer, Yrma Zaffalon, Trish O'Brien, Tracie Adkinson, Milena De La Ossa, Marissa LePage, Emily Gan, the Lei family, Rich Casparius, Amy Kienzle, Jen Arnott, Karen Jens, Kristen Krebs, Susan Look and Tammy Small.
A great part of Pizza Bingo was the 4th grade bake sale and raffle for the three amazing gift baskets. We really appreciate the efforts of Julie Borrelli for organizing the event and to Fran Arvan, Julie Niness, and Jackie Reinhart for working the sale. The gift baskets were donated by Georgia Merrill, Heather Bittenbender and Sari Shanken. In addition, we couldn't have had the sale without the yummy baked goods donated by our parents. Joann Mayo also did a great job selling the remaining fancy dress clothes. Thank you all so much!!
