Special thanks to Cary Pon, the former owner of Ledo Pizza at the Wilkens Beltway Plaza, who provided pizzas at a discounted price to CRTT volunteers for the past 5 months.  Cary has turned the shop over to new owners and we will miss him at CRTT!

The great folks at ABC have given thousand of dollars for in-kind rentals.  Please support them the next time you need to rent equipment.

Dear (Contact First Name),

Wow!  What a year this has been for Catonsville Rails To Trails.  A warm winter gave us the chance to hold several additional cleanup days and we find ourselves a half mile ahead of schedule!
Did you know that it cost upwards of $1 million per mile to build trails like the Short Line Trail?  By utilizing volunteer labor and in-kind donations, we are about half that cost.cost
CRTT has been holding fundraisers and writing grants to raise money.  On March 10, 2012, I traveled to Annapolis with Maureen & Rick Smith to testify before the State Senate and MD House of Delegates on a $50,000 bond bill for the Short Line in 2012.  Thanks to Senator Kasemeyer for sponsoring the bill in the Senate and to Delegates Steve DeBoy and Jim Malone (pictured above with me) for their sponsorship in the House. We need to secure $50,000 in matching funds to utilize this grant.
To continue the Short Line trail, we need public and private funding.  We have grants and bond bills in the pipe line, we need working capital NOW.  Please become a CRTT member or make a donation so we can continue our work.

Clean Up Day - This Saturday on  O'Short Line Trail

OCNA neighbors with chippers
OCNA residents pose with the chipper donated by ABC Rental after a clean up day on the #8 Streetcar Path in January. A chipper day will be held this Saturday, 3.17.12 on the Short Line Trail off Maiden Choice Ln.

Cleaning a trail is probably not on your list of things to do on this upcoming Saturday - St. Patrick's Day, but we could sure use your help.  We need volunteers (over 14 yrs.) to help feed limbs into a chipper from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  We are also extending a culvert and could use some strong teens and adults to give us a hand.  We also need someone to sign -in volunteers and help with administrative tasks.

Our tool inventory is very low.  We do not have enough tools for workers on cleanup days.  Please bring garden tools with your name on them!

There are perks to this job!  All the water you can drink, lunch at noon, Student Service Learning hours (if you need them) and the adoration of your community.

Send an e-mail if you can help.
