Dear Notre Dame Families:

Wow! Did we get lucky with the weather?  The rain held off on Monday and the golf outing was a great success!!! The "Whistling Straits" raffle will continue through the end of this week.  Call the office to get your ticket for this amazing golf package.  A big Thank You goes out to Julie and Len Stadtmueller and the entire golf committee for organizing this event!!!!

Please mark your calendars for the Fall Family Open House for next week Tuesday, September 25th.  The Open House will begin in the middle school gym at 6:00 P.M. with a welcome back, introductions of staff, and short presentations from Notre Dame groups and committees.  I hope to finish the presentations by 6:30 P.M.  From 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. you will be able to visit your children's classrooms in both the elementary school and middle school.  Talk with the teachers and view work that students have completed since school has begun. Children are welcome!!

The Scholastic Book Fair has begun in the elementary school gym.  To read more click on the link below.

Grace News:  Grace Catholic School students scored the highest scores in both Math and Reading (for 2011-2012). among all elementary schools in Northeastern Wisconsin (CESA 7 District).  Grace students scored at a proficient or advanced level in every grade where students were tested.  The Grace principals also adopted the Wilson 'Fundations'  and Wilson Reading System to further enhance the reading skills of their students.

Our biggest fundraiser of the year is Key Club.  Alisa Conway and Kelly Smullen had so much fun and did such a great job with Key Club they agreed to Co-chair the event again this year.  To learn more about Key Club, read the informational flyers below!

Have a great week everyone!

Jump With Joy,

 Jeff

lunchHot Lunch Program
Parents, just a reminder that there are no brown envelopes going out this year for lunch accounts.  If you have not paid yet on your child/children's hot lunch account and your child has been taking hot lunch, please send a check to school in an envelope addressed to the cafeteria or write your child's name on your check.  We are trying to get away from any money being paid/processed at lunch, so if you child takes just milk you can send a check for milk money that will be deposited into their account.  Email reminders of low balances will be sent out soon.

As per the GRACE System Registration/Tuition Agreement for the 2012-2013 school year each family will need to earn $250 ($125 for Pre-K 2 day) towards Third Source Funding. After a family meets the SCRIP requirement, families can apply 100% of any additional SCRIP profit to help pay tuition.

If you opted out of purchasing SCRIP, $250 should be paid directly to Notre Dame School by check.  Please see the detailed information regarding SCRIP in your folders or on the Notre Dame website.

In order to insure proper delivery of SCRIP purchased we are having each family sign and state below whether SCRIP can be sent home with a child or to be picked up during SCRIP hours. By checking the box to be sent home with your child, you are accepting responsibility for any lost scrip

girlsbasketballBasketball Information for 3rd & 4th Grade Girls
Now that the weather is turning colder (okay, it will eventually get colder), it is time to start thinking about basketball again.  I just received the organizational meeting information from Coach McNiff.  The informational meeting is on Sunday, September 23, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the De Pere High School Auditorium.  It is not mandatory for you to attend this meeting in order to participate in 4th grade basketball but you are certainly encouraged to attend if possible.  I have you on the list from last season so I will share what is discussed at the meeting with everyone.  I will also let you know when our practice night is assigned.  Practices will probably begin the third or fourth week of October.

If your daughter is not planning on playing basketball this season, please let me know and I will remove you from this distribution list.

Feel free to forward this on to any other 4th grade girls that might be interested in playing.  I believe it went out to Susie C., Heritage, and Dickinson this morning but I am not sure if everyone gets those messages.  Also, it probably did not go out to Notre Dame Elementary so if someone from Notre Dame could get this out to the other 4th grade girls that is appreciated.  I am hoping we can have everyone that is interested participate right from the start.

Thanks.  I look forward to seeing you on Sunday or at our first practice.

Larry
