Dear Notre Dame Families:
Wow! What a great start to the school year!! It was great to see all of you at the Welcome Back mass and at the Open House. I appreciate all the feedback both positive and constructive. I agree with the suggestions that students should be allowed to attend the elementary school open house. I am making notes for next year.
MAPs testing will begin next week Monday. MAPs is a standardized test that gives diagnostic information about the stengths and weaknesses of our students. Please stress the importance of these tests to your children. The tests give the teachers critical information that is used for instruction. MAPs tests are very similar to tests for the ACT etc. Test taking is an important skill to develop for your child's future!
Option C is no longer an option. Our on-line grading system will now be provided by Powerschool. Parent and student access will be made available by the end of this month.
O.K. I need your help!! As we transition away from paper it is very important that you read our new electronic newsletter. There will be links at the throughout the newsletter that can take you to the information of interest to you.We are attempting to go Green with this new format. Please forward all flyers electronically to ndnewsletterteam@gmail.com with a brief description of the flyer that can be easily copied and pasted into the newsletter. All flyers must be sent in a pdf format. We hope to cut down on the cost of paper and reduce the time to stuff the brown envelope. Thank you for your help!!!
The Notre Dame Family Golf outing is this coming Monday, September 19th. Students attend school as usual while parents golf during the day. At the end of the school day a bus takes students to the golf course to participate in golf events (such as a putting contest). There is an early dinner and raffle items. If you can't or don't golf come join the fun after school. This is a great event for the whole family. Either scroll down or click here for more info: Golf Outing Win a Whistling Straits foursome!! Click on the link for more info: Whistling Straits foursome
The parking space behind the elementary school building is now open. Feel free to use it for drop off and parking. A decision about when to black top is pending. We are getting estimates on the cost.
The bump in on Huron Street is drop zone only! This means that you are not allowed (by law) to park in this area. You are allowed to help your child out of the car. However, if you would like to enter the building you should park either on a side street or behind the building. Thank you for your help!
Opportunities abound for volunteer hours. We need playground volunteers, classroom volunteers, middle school walk volunteers etc. Please contact Jenny at the elementary school (337-1103) or Elisa at the middle school (337-1115).
In Spirit,
Jeff

2011 Leadership Convocation Parishes: Called to Be Holy, Fully Engaged, Fully Alive
September Greetings, Everyone! As we return from the many activities of summer to our many ministerial roles in our parishes, we come face to face with the joy and the challenge of implementing Bishop Ricken's Pastoral Letter Parishes: Called to be Holy, Fully Engaged, Fully Alive. There is no doubt that it is an exciting time in our diocese. To assist parishes, the Diocese of Green Bay Leadership Convocation 2011 is offering dynamic speakers that will address all six pastoral focus areas of the pastoral letter. This will be a wonderful opportunity to gather as a Church, celebrate Mass with Bishop Ricken and be inspired with new ideas and new hope. Click the link below for the registration form. All are welcome to attend. We have sent an invitation to other dioceses in Wisconsin. Please register early if you can. Blessings, Mary Ann Otto Stewardship and Special Projects Director Diocese of Green Bay (877)-500-3580 Ext. 8301 (920)-272-8301 motto@gbdioc.org Click here for the Full Brochure & Registration Form
