Artisan silver hammered ring necklace, Becky Gravenmier
|
August Featured Artists
Rebecca Gravenmier
Becky, a rangeland ecologist by training, is a mixed metal jeweler in her spare time. She takes her inspiration from the colors, textures and shapes found in nature. Becky works primarily with silver, copper and nickel, but also created a line of organic jewelry from silver and copper metal clay. For the August show (also her 25th wedding anniversary), she will feature a collection of artisan hammered sterling silver jewelry with semi-precious gemstones and a variety of mixed metal jewelry with stunning cabochon stones. Becky feels this collection will be fresh, fun and perfect for year-round wear and gift giving.

Let There Be Light, Oil on Canvas
Linda Jerome
|
Linda Jerome
Linda's August show is a series of figurative oil paintings inspired by trying to find a way to explore the spiritual side of human beings through visual art. By representing figures in a somewhat unrealistic way, juxtaposing statues and using abstract forms in the paintings, she hopes to lead the viewer to consider a deeper meaning of our human form. Linda started this series with portraits of her 5 grandchildren, as they are a constant source of inspiration to her and wanting to capture her impressions of them at their current ages.

Untitled #1, Archival Photograph, Doug Pettitt
|
Douglas Pettitt
Doug is a photographer with no subject limitations, shooting everything from trees to trash. The August exhibit by Doug is an exploration of color, texture, and form found in an industrial re-cycling center. He was intrigued by the beauty of the materials and the photo opportunities. These were discovered when Doug accompanied a fellow artist as she searched for items for her own art. This show is a compilation of photos taken during several trips to the site.
