Summer is just around the corner, time to plan ahead.  Many brewers, myself included,  like to "Brew to Season", this means making a beer that that will be ready with the season.  For summer this means going lighter, in terms of color, body and alcohol.  Beers like witbier, hefeweizens, pilsners and various fruit beers are refreshing on a hot day.  We have all the ingredients you need to brew your favorite summer beverage including fruit flavors and purees.  For the kit lover, Brewer's Best has released a Summer Ale (see side panel) and their very popular 2011 PSA IPA. 

Not to leave the wine makers out, we have extended the sale on select Orchard Breezin wine kits.  These kits are blends of fruit and grape juice, are lighter in body and alcohol and finish slightly sweet, perfect for the patio this summer.

Please join us Saturday May 7th at Chamard Vineyard for this fun event.   

 

Every year the AHA comes up with recipes to brew on this day, this year the three recipes are:   "East India Pale Ale", "Must be the season of the Wit", "Rocket Rod's Positively Porter".   

 

Myself,  along with Mike C. and Mike L. we will be brewing all three beers simultaneously from all-grain.  

 

Bring along a friend and your favorite homebrews to share.  We'll have a grill  and hot dogs as well.  Lets make it a great afternoon (12:00 - 5:00).

Pleasant citrus notes come from the bitter orange and lemon peel. Fermented with premium Safale US-05 dry yeast, this beer finishes clean with lingering flavors of citrus and spice. Crisp and refreshing.

     Brew Club?

 Many of you have asked    about starting up a brew club as there aren't any in our area.  The May 7th Brew event would be a perfect opportunity to talk this up.    Show up and bring ideas!

 

Classes Now Offered

 Many of you have inquired about beer or wine making classes.  We are happy to announce that we will now offer free introductory classes for both wine and beer making.  Topics will include basic equipment, ingredients, methods for extract and all grain brewing, grape, juice and kit wine making.  Class day and time is flexible.   Give us a call if you would like to attend a class.
