Changes to post-graduate and short courses
Three years ago, we launched a post-graduate programme for ministers with the invitation to all ministers to step forward and offer short courses, workshops, retreats and other events that would support ministers in their continuing spiritual growth and be accredited for CPD purposes. This programme has met with mixed success. Around 25 ministers have offered events. Some events ran with great success and others attracted insufficient interest to run. Interestingly, the longer (and more expensive) events were in greatest demand. We have recently reviewed this area of our support for ministers. The post-graduate programme will focus on fewer and more substantive courses, retreats and events delivered by reputable external tutors as well as by ministers. The aim is to offer further in-depth spiritual growth and ministry development. At the same time we are committed to extending the short course programme in which ministers offer courses, workshops and events to the general public around the country that make opportunities for spiritual awakening more widely available. As well as your contributions to the short course programme, the Profiling Initiative is commissioning some tutoring materials for use by ministers. The short course programme tutors will also distribute information about interfaith ministry and the seminary to those who attend.

The host team for Convocation 2012 need some additional people to help with the set up and organisation on the day (9 June, London). And Lindsay is recruiting a volunteer team to help with the preparation and logistics of Ordination (20/21 July, London). Please do get in touch if you can help in any way.
There is a report from the recent meeting of south-west ministers, together with details of their next regional meeting.
