Could you be an Interfaith Ambassador?
As the Profiling Initiative - to raise the national profile of interfaith ministry throughout the UK and Ireland - begins to take off, one aspect is to have people prepared, ready and willing to speak publicly about this work of ministry and service. We're recruiting ministers and student ministers to be available in one or more different ways:
- Attending exhibitions and conventions (like Mind, Body Spirit) and representing interfaith ministry
- Giving public talks when invited (like WI, Rotary, schools)
- Talking to the media (radio, newspapers, TV)
Deirdre Brannigan is coordinating all these activities and matching people to invitations. We're preparing a Briefing Pack containing all the relevant information that you'll need to talk to others, including some illustrative materials. And we'll arrange a workshop to help you practice. There's more information online. Please get in touch with Deirdre.

Also in the news this week
Rev Jan Storey has published a new book entitled If not You, then Who - small questions about big things. It's reviewed by Aileen Neelan, together with ordering information.
If you know Elinor (1998-2000), you'll want to read her heartfelt story of sorrow and hope following the recent fire which has destroyed her house and ruined their possessions. She asks for your prayers of support (Login required to protect privacy).
We are drawing up the OSIF response to the consultation on gay marriages. Please contact Tim Pickles if you have a particular view on this issue. Our general response is that the proposals do not go far enough because they still exclude the possibility of a religious marriage. We are also reiterating our request for change in the marriage registration laws in England and Wales.
