Contentment

Contentment is not just a 'peaceful, easy feeling' or a way to rationalise laziness.  It is a deep, easy-breathing wisdom that knows what can and can't be changed, and more important, knows when to do and when to wait.

The contented person watches the world closely, but does not stare it down.  She enjoys things, rather than trying to possess them or straighten them out.

Issue 150 : 19 February 2012

Greetings!

Wednesday found Lindsay and me on our hands and knees, covered in dust and cobwebs, staring into the back of a dark cupboard spring cleaning.  We have been clearing out items that the Foundation no longer needs and it turned our attention to the 'inner' spring cleaning that we must all face from time to time in our role as ministers and student ministers.

So we offer our blessings to you as you undertake your own springtime cleaning, whether that be internal or external.

With blessings to you from Danielle, and on behalf of all the staff team

Y2 Student Ministers Pilgrimage Walk

Lady with flute NC
On 9 April 2012, Year 2 student ministers Tisha Wilkinson and Christopher Corps will be walking for nine days from Oxford to Glastonbury.

The primary purpose is to raise funds for fellow second year students for whom meeting the cost of fees has become urgent and difficult. The route takes them south to Abingdon, from there to Wantage, then along the Ridgeway to Marlborough and Avebury. The route then follows The Kennet  and Avon Canal towards Bath, before heading south to Wells and Glastonbury for the 17 April.

The walk will be though beautiful countryside and towns, with opportunities to 'dwell a little' at sacred places. On the first evening Chris will be telling sacred stories at St Ethelwold's House in Abingdon. On the final evening there will be a celebratory stories and music in Glastonbury.

Chris and Tisha invite us all to support this venture in any way we can.  For further details click here.

Choice Ceremonies - Business Opportunity:
Rev Lesley Edwards, from Choice Ceremonies, has been in touch with us to let us know that she is leaving Hampshire, where her business is currently based, and is offering to pass things over, on a commission basis, to OSIF ministers who are interested in taking over from her.
Lesley is a member of the MCC (Metropolitan Community Church) and has approached us because she is aware that our training, ethos and values are in line with her own. Click here for further information.
