Into the heart of silence

I have sat in the Heart of Silence

With just my Heart and Yours,

Joined as One by the Silence in Nature

While all of the world is on pause.

I have heard the sound of Silence

In my Heart when all around,

Has been high and awesomely violent

The Silence so incredibly loud.

I have held in my Heart that Silence

With feelings that almost burst, they

Hurt in my Heart and held me apart,

From those moments that were truly the worst.

Then back comes the Silence of All That Is

My Heart knows this Silence well,

The Creator of All, my Heart sings your call

Once again I am under Your spell.

For in my Heart lies all truth, love and You

The Silence is there any how, any way

That I choose I will always move,

Into Silence with You and my Heart.

Issue 147 : 22 January 2012

Greetings!

This has been a busy week for news and developments, so we hope you enjoy this issue - and particularly the announcement about appointments to the Profiling Initiative.

We are exploring new options for a training venue for the Seminary in 2012/3 capable of accommodating a group of over 50 people. We have one possibility in East Sussex, but would welcome suggestions for other venues available at weekends in or close to London; it could be shared with another organisations requiring weekday use.  Please contact Lindsay with all ideas.

With blessings to you from Tim, and on behalf of all the staff team

New appointments to the Profiling Initiative

CandlesThe Profiling Initiative is a major programme developed over the past year aimed at raising the national profile of interfaith ministry throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. The programme will run for up to two years and aims to:
  1. Enable more people to know about our approach to ministry;
  2. Generate more enquiries for ministers on the Public Register; and
  3. Lead to potentially more students enrolling in the Seminary.
The programme will include a diverse range of projects including journalism, broadcasting, webinars, social media, research, national events, short courses, public speakers, and more.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Deirdre Brannigan who joins the staff team as part-time Profile Coordinator responsible for heading-up this whole initiative. She brings extensive background experience and skills in marketing and project management.

We have appointed Rev Peter Neary-Chaplin and Mab Jones to the freelance journalism team.  Mab Jones will also be the social media editor developing our presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and in the blogosphere.  An announcement about 2-3 short course writers will be made soon. More projects will be developed as the programme unfolds from its planned launch on 1 March.

Plus ... keep an eye on our Vacancies page for details of other forthcoming posts and roles!

Rev Philip Maultby has stepped down as a Trustee after four years of service. His wisdom and spiritual gifts are greatly appreciated.

The Y2 students raised over £700 from their New Year's Eve event in Brighton.

Rev Stephen Wright features in a full-page profile in the Church Times - perhaps the first time that interfaith ministry has featured in the Church of England press.

Our Finance Officer, Rev Danielle Wilson has recently moved house. If you have tried to ring her in the last 10 days and left a message, please ring again (08444 457 004 - Option 3) as there was an error on the call forwarding system which resulted in messages being unretrievable. When her new number is issued next week, there will be a general announcement made with the address and number change.  Apologies!
