Reflection: Patience
ocean

Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart, and try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue ... do not now seek the answers which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them ... and the point is to live everything ... live the questions now ... perhaps you will then, without noticing it, live along into the answers.

(Rainer Maria Rilke)

Issue 138 : 30 October 2011

Greetings!

This week, student minister Tisha Wilkinson has written an article on behalf of our second-year students on Loss and Lack - the Gifts of the Second Year. In it she describes the process of reconvening for the new year, and of catching up on all that has been happening for her group. Several students have experienced bereavement, redundancy and other difficulties - hence the sense of loss and lack. The group face a shortfall in their ability to meet their collective fees, and Tisha outlines their response.

Blessings from Nicola, Lindsay, Danielle and Tim

We honour and acknowledge each of Revs Jacqueline Clark, Noel Lockyer-Stevens and Annie Blampied for offering themselves in service as trustees for our work.

Annie received 72% support; Noel received 71% support and Jacqueline received 52% support. Annie and Noel will join the trustee board from 1 January for a three-year term.

The seminary team has also nominated Rev Richard Nickols to serve as a trustee for the same period.

In the past week, Rev Ola Agbaimoni has stepped down as a trustee with immediate effect. She has served for three years, including most recently as vice-chair and has brought a distinctive voice and contribution to our work which is deeply appreciated.
