All the hatred and cruelty in this world

I said to God again, "Beloved I need to love you - every aspect, every pore,"

And this time God said, " There is a hideous blemish on my body, though it is such an infinitesimal part of my being - could you kiss that if it were revealed?"

"I will try, Lord, I will try."

And then God said,

"That blemish is all the hatred and Cruelty in this world."

St Thomas Aquinas, from Love Poems from God

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Co-Creating a New Vision for Interfaith Encounter

I met an Anglican Vicar, passionate about Interfaith issues, Rev Alan Bayes, Chair of the Inter-faith Council for Wales, and Nigel Anthony, Co-Director of the Foundation for Holistic Spirituality, and the three of us decided to create a gathering for our different groups with the intention of opening to a deeper and shared experience, that would go beyond our different uses of the word Interfaith.  Whilst a shared theology is impossible, a shared experience is not only possible but necessary at this time.

Please do join us on 15-17 November at the Abbey Retreat House, Glastonbury

The two days will include discussion and prayer, open space and sharing, music and singing, quiet time for contemplation in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey, the earliest Christian sanctuary in Britain, and in the town of Glastonbury, a pilgrimage site for both traditional and contemporary spiritual paths. Keynote Speaker ~ Rev Ray Gaston

The presence and active participation of everyone who attends this event is valued including giving talks and leading small groups. Through this approach we can explore ways of co-creating a new vision for interfaith encounter.

Cost: £180 early bird to 30th September; £200 thereafter. Day attendance possible. Further details
