Nominations open for Trustee elections

One of the recommendations from the Visioning process is for a more representative, inclusive and transparent process of governance for the Interfaith Foundation, in which each part of our community has an opportunity to participate in the strategic governance. Accordingly, the current trustees are proposing a transition from appointed trustees to elected trustees. Provision will remain for co-options to bring in specialist expertise, and second-year student observers at meetings.
Trustees will be elected from amongst (a) the IMA membership, and (b) the Seminary team.
Nominations are now open for ministers in membership of the IMA to stand for election to TWO trustee positions to serve for three years from 2012.
Nominations will open during the autumn for Seminary staff to stand for election to ONE trustee position to serve for one year.
Eligible ministers may nominate themselves or propose another eligible minister who has agreed to stand for election. Nominations close o23 September, and ballot papers will be sent to IMA members shortly afterwards. Nominations should be send to tim.pickles@interfaithfoundation.org to arrive no later than 23 September. Nominees will be invited submit a 200 word candidate statement to accompany the ballot papers. Employees of the Interfaith Foundation are ineligible to stand for election as trustees to a charity that directly employs them. Further details, include a trustee role description are available on the website.
The trustees-elect will be invited to participate in a trustee/staff strategy weekend on 26/27 November in Leicestershire.
