Made in God's image and likeness

If we were made in God's image and likeness, then we were made holy because God is holy.

Our holiness reflects that spirit level of wholeness.

Where we recognise our wholeness we bless, heal and refresh a tired and thirsty world.

Our realization and remembrance of our holiness is the best gift we can give to life.

We become a bridge to Heaven, which then pours through its grace to touch and heal the earth.

In your holiness, your ego melts away, leaving less of you and more of Heaven.   (Chuck Spezzano)

Issue 125 : 24 July 2011
Greetings!

Thank you to everyone who has phoned, emailed and written with words of appreciation for the Ordination Ceremony last weekend. These are deeply appreciated.  And our appreciation is offered to the magnificent volunteer team who helped to prepare the church on Friday, welcomed all the guests and visitors, created and served food after the service, and then helped to clear up afterwards. Thank you all. The date of next year's Ordination has been changed to Saturday 21 July in London. This change of date avoids any clash with the London Olympics (for sports enthusiasts and sports avoiders).

Several staff and faculty members will be less available over the next few weeks and we ask for your patience if it takes longer to receive a response to your enquiries.

Blessings from Nicola, Lindsay, Danielle and Tim
Post-graduate programme this autumn
stone wall

Several people have offered short courses and retreats as part of this autumn's post-graduate programme for ministers. These are intended to offer in-depth learning and reflection opportunities after the seminary training. All the programmes are CPD-accredited.

How to conduct the perfect ceremony
1-2 October. London
A masterclass in presentation, personal presence and pitfalls, led by Rev Akasha Lonsdale. A wonderful opportunity for deepening your ceremony experience, for both new and experienced ministers. Limited places, early booking discount to 9 September.

Accredited Supervisor Training
19 October, London and 21-25 November, Warwickshire.
This is the second residential training with Robin Shohet (Centre of Supervision and Team Development ) leading to accredited supervisor certification; the course is particularly helpful if you wish to offer supervision to other ministers and/or to other external organisations. This course has attracted substantial bookings and a waiting list is currently being formed.

Nurturing our Spirit, Feeding our Soul
11-13 November, Suffolk
The second annual nurturing retreat for interfaith ministers, convened by Rev Ann Baeppler.  Booking now open; again limited places, so please help Ann by booking early.

We welcome proposals for further PG proposals.  See the Community Handbook for details.

Other news
river Following the inspirational Ordination Ceremony last Saturday, there is an 8-minute video clip on YouTube featuring some of the music at the Ceremony. Thanks to Rev Becky Jones, Rev Brendan Johnson and Rev David Wetton for posting this.

The video includes most of the Blessed song cycle created and composed by Rev Razia Azia, with subsequent support from several other students in the year group. The words of this song cycle are now available in the Ministers Resource Library (login required for IMA members only to prevent mis-use).

And Rev Diane Berke has given us a copy of the notes for her inspiration talk and Breath Body Prayer based around the visit of the Archangel Gabriel to Mary. Again, this is in the Resource Library and requires IMA member login to prevent mis-use.

We have received a gift of spiritual books which are available on a first-come-first-served basis to any minister or student. Please contact Lindsay to reserve your choice. There is no charge but donations and a contribution towards post and packing are invited.
