Understanding is the booby prize
meditation with sand

I have always been struck by Werner Erhard's memorable aphorism: "In life, understanding is the booby prize". We understand from what we are taught or figure out but learning is not the same as truth. Knowing comes from our own experience and our experience is always truth. What I experience, I know. Our experience is what happens moment-by-moment in life. This life is our knowing, and this knowing is the Mystery.

Greetings!

Last week's meeting of trustees and staff in Manchester had a far-reaching agenda with many items arising from the Visioning process. Amongst the items under consideration were: next year's seminary programme, raising the profile of interfaith ministry, a distance-learning programme, the short-course programme, and reforms to the governance arrangements.  Further details will be published here shortly.  This is an exciting time in our work as the way forward is revealed to us.

An invitation to Galway
hillside

Rev Geraldine Bowen is hosting a weekend in Connemara on 6/7 August on behalf of the Suil Linn group of Irish ministers and you are warmly welcome.

This is an open invitation for all Interfaith Ministers to come to Galway and meet with the Irish Interfaith Ministers and students. We can pray together, sing together, share some readings and share some silence. We can also share the stories of our Ministry and most of all - have fun!  Connemara is a most beautiful part of Ireland. I can see the sea and mountains from every window AND I have a hot tub outside.
