Community Reflection: The absolute and the relative
Plate of candles

The absolute is not the opposite of the relative. The absolute is outside the frame of duality. All duality is in it. The absolute includes everything. You don't have to burn the menu to enjoy the meal. And you don't have to deny the world in all its magnificent diversity and texture to recognize that has no independent existence.

(Awake in the Heartland by Joan Tollifson. My thanks to Rev Joyce Liechenstein, who visited us from One Spirit Seminary, New York, and recommended this book to me. It is a delight.)

iConnect
Issue 118 : 4 June 2011
Greetings!

The time approaches for our Ordination Ceremony. Within our student groups the inner work is ever-deeper. Within our faculty and mentor groups the outward support is more intense. And within our community, we ask that you hold these ordinands in prayer.

Blessings from Lindsay, Nicola, Danielle and Tim
Come, come whoever you are ...
ordination

... to take part in the sacred ritual of holding and welcoming our 2011 ministers at their ordination ceremony.

This is perhaps the most important occasion in our calender. We gather together in community to witness all the new ministers as they are anointed, and to surround them in an embrace of love.

Do you remember your own ordination and all that it marked for you?  The Class of 2011 is preparing for this moment, in just six weeks time.  It will be another great gathering at the Second Church of Christ Scientist, Notting Hill Gate, London.  Please arrive by 13.45 to be seated.  Family, friends and guests are all welcome.

Robes and stoles are welcome.  Children are welcome. Ministers are invited in the lower seats to form a physical holding circle around the inner circle of ministers. Why not bring a picnic to share with friends afterwards in the near-by park?

If you are willing to help prepare and set-up the venue, please contact Lindsay.

Come, come, whoever you are ... to witness, to affirm, to welcome, and to celebrate.
