Community Reflection

Compassionate Actions
a buddha for each day of the week
The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members, a heart of grace, and a soul generated by love.

iConnect
Issue 111 : 16 April 2011
Greetings!

This week we bring you a special issue of iConnect exploring how we are all invited to bring inter-faith and inter-spiritual ministry to wider public notice.  Please do reflect on how you contribute to this wider work.

Convocation is just a week away. Bookings are still arriving. And more offers of accommodation at Findhorn have been made. Friends of Rev Dorothy Owen (01309 696902) are offering beds. The Findhorn Village Centre (01309 692339) is offering £15 beds. And Elva Riddoch has space at her B&B in Forres (01309 673056). With travel costs rising over the weekend, why not stay longer?

Blessings from Lindsay, Nicola, Danielle and Tim

As the Seminary celebrates our 15th year it is still true that you have always been, and always will be, our very best means of sharing the existence of our training. Thank you! To be explicit, you are our marketing team in the world, and we truly need your support - both in holding the inward intention for the Seminary's new 2011 first year programme to thrive, and to take the actions that will draw applicants towards us. Will you be the messenger to bring the Seminary training to others awareness? There are many different strands that you might consider:

Send the link to our website: and any part of this message that you wish to, to anyone who may be interested in the training.

Display or distribute our Seminary leaflet.  It is available from Lindsay and the front and back pages both stand as small posters in their own right. Copies can be sent for you to pass on, or display where you feel appropriate.

Arrange a talk, mini-workshop, artistic event in your workplace or any other place/ market/ fayre/ library/ cafe where either you or a member of the faculty or any minister could speak about the Seminary or demonstrate our work in any way.

Hold the Seminary and this new intake in your prayers and inner vision.

Attend and/ or encourage others towards our Introductory Events and Ordination.

Raising the profile of interfaith ministry
candles One outcome of the Visioning process is a developmental focus on raising the public profile of inter-faith and inter-spiritual work so that more people become aware of what we offer.  Already we are developing new leaflets, new newsletters, and a clearer message; a promotional pack is available for ministers to use in their work. We need more minister/media links and more features. A 'promotions' group is being convened to advise and support this longer-term developmental work. We'd love to hear your ideas for practical ways in which you can help the whole community to raise our profile.
