Perspective - Looking Back on Our Success

Dear St. Anne's School Families-

A group of dedicated people, united by a shared vision, can accomplish amazing things. As my tenure at St. Anne's School comes to a close, I feel pride in the success we have achieved together, building a school that "invests in the intellectual and spiritual promise of each student and celebrates the dignity of every human being."

We are part of a school with a remarkable history. Nearly 500 students have graduated from our exceptional program, and many more have benefited by growing and learning with us. Our school has grown from a tiny Preschool and Kindergarten to a fully articulated Preschool through Eighth Grade program distinguished for its innovative academic program and robust social curriculum. It takes many steps and a dedicated community to build a school. Here a just a handful of our accomplishment we have achieved together:

  • Back In the early 1990s, we put the building blocks into place: We found our property, raised funds and built our facility. We established a Board of Trustees and Parents Association to govern and support the school.
  • We have crafted an outstanding academic program. Founded as a "child centered" school, we adopted the Reggio Emellia and Responsive Classroom approaches, incorporated an inquiry centered program and initiated a Humanities program. Together, these exceptional programs engage and challenge our students to become confident life- long learners, poised for success in the 21st century.
  • We have attracted an exceptional faculty which continues to add innovations to our cutting edge program.
  • Welcoming a diverse group of families, our community is enriched and strengthened by the contribution of many perspectives.

When I reflect on all the accomplishments of these years, what makes me most proud is the distinctive legacy our school has created in the community. Our blend of a rigorous academic program with transformative experiences that build leadership, confidence, and ingenuity in our students, distinguishes us from any other program in the area.

An alumni grandparent said it most simply in a letter she wrote to me recently. She wrote that it was a
blessing that her grandchildren attended our school which continues "its message of love and caring while expecting the best from all who attend." Her comment says it all. To me, there is no better measure of success than this.

Best regards,
