St. Anne's Used Book Fair We will be collecting used books, movies and music from April 30 to May 22 for the St. Anne's School Used Book Fair. There will be a book drop in the front lobby. Don't forget to shop the Used Book Fair during Spirit Day on May 25!

Best Bets for the Weekend: International Children's Festival in Washington DC: St. Anne's School teacher and family recommended, the International Children's Festival is a great family event that many St. Anne's School students enjoy each year.
The festival is this Sunday, May 6 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center at 1300 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Washington, DC. Activities include: music, dance, cultural displays, arts and crafts, and children's parades.
Families who have gone in the past recommend arriving early or car pooling because parking is limited!

Moms' Night Out: Fri. May 11 - Space is limited so RSVP TODAY!
Local potter and St. Anne's mom Renata Mastroti and glass artist Gayla Lee will help us try our hands at small pottery and glass pieces. Light fare will be served. Please wear casual attire appropriate for working on an art project. The event will be in the 1st floor Sculpture (rm 116) and Pottery (rm 114) Rooms. |

Congratulations Kindergarten!
Last month, we challenged classes to reach 100% participation in the Bridge to the Future Annual Fund. To thank you for your participation, any class that reaches 100% parent participation in the Annual Fund will be treated to a Parents Night Out. You can bring your children to the school for a night of fun games and a movie while you enjoy a relaxing night at home or a night out.

Friday, May 11: Seventh and Eighth Grade Spring Dance, 7 p.m. Students should wear casual and appropriate attire.
Friday, May 11: Moms' Night Out, 7 p.m. Moms' Night Out is hosted by the Parents Association and it is an event for Moms to come together and enjoy a night of food, fun and friendship. This year's event will be hosted at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. RSVP to Leslie Raabe by May 7.
Monday, May 14: Blessing of the Animals Chapel, 11:15 a.m. An annual tradition, our Blessing of the Animals Chapel gives our students a chance to celebrate some of the most important members of our community - our pets! Families are welcome to attend this Chapel and bring in pets from home to be blessed. Please note, pets cannot stay with children throughout the day. A family member must bring the pet to school at 11:15 and then transport the pet home afterwards.
Tuesday, May 15 - Thursday, May 24: Final Exams, Eighth Grade An exam schedule will be emailed home, indicating days and times of final exams. Thursday, May 17: Professional Graduation Photograph, 8:30 a.m. Eighth Graders should wear their graduation outfits for their formal photograph and change into their uniforms afterwards. Eighth Grade families are welcome to attend the photo session and take personal photos. Thursday, May 17: STEM Expo, 1:30-3:00 p.m. Fifth through Seventh Grade students will be exhibiting a wide variety of science projects and experiments. All families are invited to attend. As a follow up to our Math Night, Lower School parents are invited to visit the Math Workshop portion of their child's class and then attend the STEM Expo together. Early Childhood parents are invited to attend with their child - your student may want to stop by their buddy's table! Friday, May 18: Special Dress Day: Surf's Up Students are invited to get ready for summer fun with summer dress!
Monday, May 21: Capstone Panel Presentations, 8:30 a.m.
Students will present their capstone project giving a brief overview of their research paper, volunteer time and take questions and answers from parents, faculty and students.
Friday, May 25: Spirit Day (EC Family Fun Day and Field Day) 8:15 a.m. - 12 p.m.This year we are wrapping our favorite year end "fun" days into one. On Friday, May 25, which is a half day, we will host field day games for Lower School and Middle School and special activities for our EC students. The day will begin with a sing-a-long and a showcase of our Middle School musicians. After field day activities, we'll gather together for a student/teacher volleyball game and buddy lunch! All families are invited to join us for what is sure to be a fun filled day! Early Childhood families should arrive by 8:15 a.m. for the sing-a-long. Tuesday, May 29 - Wednesday, May 30: Eighth Grade Harpers Ferry TripThursday, May 31: Eighth Grade Alumni Induction Lunch and Middle School Recognition Assembly 12:00 p.m. - Alumni Induction Lunch for Eighth Grade Students 2:00 p.m. - Middle School Recognition Assembly for students, families and friends. Students are required to wear their formal uniforms. Friday, June 1: Baccalaureate & Graduation Dinner - 6:00 p.m. This year, our Baccalaureate & Graduation Dinner will be celebrated at St. Anne's Church. All family members are invited to attend both events. Seventh Grade families are invited to join us in honoring the Eighth Grade class during the Baccalaureate and Seventh Grade families graciously host the Graduation Dinner afterwards. A feature of the evening is a short presentation given by the St. Anne's staff to celebrate the graduates. Please RSVP to Tiffany Musa. Sunday, June 3: Service to Honor Fran Lukens at St. Anne's Church, 11:15 a.m.All St. Anne's School families are invited to attend a special service at St. Anne's Church to honor Fran on her retirement. A reception on the church lawn will follow the service. Monday, June 4: Seventh Grade Boat Races, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.Our Seventh Grade students take cardboard boats that they have constructed over to Hillsmere shores to test their designs. This event is for Seventh Grade students and their families. Wednesday, June 6: Graduation, 10 a.m. Graduates arrive at St. Anne's School at 9:00 a.m. This is the final day of school for the Eighth Grade. The graduation is approximately one hour in length and is followed by a reception in the Meditation Garden. Family and friends are welcome. |
