Imitating Life: Eighth Graders Demonstrate
Their Prosthetic Hand Models
In science, our Eighth Grade recently completed a project where they were tasked with creating prosthetic hands that were able to grasp, pick up and release a paper cup. Some groups came up with some other creative uses for their prosthetic hands, like shutting off a light switch, erasing a chalkboard and picking up a tennis ball!
Students used their knowledge of the human muscular system and designed their models to mimic the connective tissues of a real hand.

Thanks for Showing Your Spirit!
Thanks to everyone who came out to Metro Diner yesterday! The evening was a huge success - we even ran out of the special cupcakes and milkshakes they had prepared for us!
For those of you who signed up for the Metro Diner Card yesterday, you must link your card to St. Anne's School. Please take a moment to log in with your card number (on the back of the card) and the password you put in yesterday. Click here to link your card to St. Anne's School>>

Outdoor Amphitheater Project Erik Saderholm, an Eighth Grader here at St. Anne's School, is building an outdoor amphitheater on our campus for his Eagle Scout project. Erik has already raised over $1,100, but he still needs help reaching his goal of $1,500. Please help support Erik by making a donation to fund his project. Donations can be given to the school. Please contact Hutchey Doley for information. |
Light House Shelter Food Drive Eighth Grader Colin Cassidy is organizing a food drive for his Eighth Grade Capstone Project. It is for the Light House Shelter, an organization that provides food for the hungry. Please consider helping those in need. This food drive is for the entire school, so everyone can get invovled and all you have to do is bring some cereal, canned food, or other non-perishable items to school during the week of March 26-March 30. There will be collection boxes placed in each Lower School homeroom and Middle School advisory. If St. Anne's students can reach our goal of donating 350 items, the whole school will be able to have a Dress Down Day to show our support for the cause! |
Read and Feed Project For his Capstone Project, Eighth Grader Kirk Caldwell is completing a project called "Read and Feed." Kirk is collecting books for Elementary and Middle School students to encourage them to read.
The donations will go tot he Robinwood Housing Library Project and to the Stanton Center of Annapolis. Novels that middle school boys would like would be particularly helpful, like Goosebumps, Hardy Boys, space adventures, etc. Reference books and dictionaries are also appreciated, as well as magazines.
He is also collecting healthy granola bars so that the kids will have something healthy to munch on while reading. Please put you items in the box located in the front lobby from March 15-April 15. Thank you for your help with this effort. |
