Special Dress Day - Special Cause
Wear green on Fri. March 9 and support Canine Companions for Independence
Students are invited to wear green on Friday, March 9 to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. On special dress days, Middle School students are encouraged to bring in a donation for charitable organization. For this special dress day, we're inviting the whole school to participate with donations going to Canine Companions for Independence, a very special organization to the students and staff at St. Anne's School. Canine Companions for Independence is the organization that science teacher Donna Davis is working with to raise her service dog, Eaton. CCI placed Eaton with Donna earlier this year and Donna will send Eaton off to "puppy college" when he is 18 months old. Donna has been bringing Eaton to school each day as part of his training, and the students and staff alike have loved watching Eaton grow and learn! On Friday, March 2, we will have an all school assembly where Donna, Eaton's trainer Emerson Davis, and some more special guests will demonstrate the amazing abilities of service dogs. Eaton will be joined by a full service dog named Mahler. Read more about Eaton's journey. |

Camp Annapolis CIT Openings
The purpose of the C.I.T. (Counselor in Training) Program at Camp Annapolis is to train our future Junior, Assistant and Lead Counselors. The C.I.T. position is a volunteer position that can count toward service hours.
In order to be hired as a Junior, Assistant or Lead Counselor, one must complete a full eight weeks of C.I.T. training, or must be in college. C.I.T.s may begin accumulating their experience the summer before Eighth Grade. If they work all eight weeks of camp this summer, they are eligible to be hired as a Junior Counselor the following year.
C.I.T.s work with their Lead Counselors, as well as Camp Directory Ellen Montoya, to gain skills that are transferable to many professions, including: teamwork, self-direction and personal responsibility.
Seventh and Eighth Graders who like to work with kids or want to work at camp in the future are encourage to apply to this exciting program. Please contact Ellen Montoya at emontoya@St.AnnesSchool.org to find out more. |
