From the Parents' Perspective

Der

Dear St. Anne's School Family,

Parent participation in the life of the school has a tremendous impact on the quality of the program. Every form of support counts: making repairs, arranging class celebrations, providing lunches and maintaining the library.

In addition to support at school, parents have a powerful role to play outside of school to assure that their students receive an exceptional educational experience.

Parents are the mouthpiece of the school and the primary shapers of its reputation. Word of mouth brings up to 60% of the inquiries to the Admissions Office. What parents say in the grocery store, on the playing field, and at birthday parties is a direct link to how the school is perceived in the community.

Several upcoming events are offered to provide helpful information for parents.

  • January 19: The Parent Engagement Plan (PEP) is an exciting and encouraging way for parents to brainstorm ways to convey positive messages about our school. Twenty-two parents participated in the first meeting. The second meeting is Thursday, January 19 at 7:00, and everyone is welcome.
  • February 1 at 8:15 am: Parents are invited to a Parent Information Coffee which is an introduction to Lower School for parents of younger children.
  • February 2 at 7:00pm: Parent to Parent: Middle School Life at St. Anne's Get your questions answered by the folks who know the ropes: fellow St. Anne's School Parents. Enjoy conversation and a lasagna dinner in the library.
  • February 23 at 7:00pm: Come to Parent Math Night and have fun while learning about our math program.

Share your St. Anne's story with someone you know outside of school. You can also share it with a fellow parent. Our success stories encourage one another. Robert Evans, author of Family Matters, says, "A school can turn to its strong, supportive parents and stewards for advice and help in spreading the word among parents at large."

Warm regards,

Proof of the Pudding

So far we have distributed 66 Proud to be a St. Anne's Family road signs, and news that our Tuition Initiative is going viral is coming back to the school. For instance, at our Board of Trustees meeting Thursday night I learned that parents in Arnold and a prominent state legislator are commenting on our story.
