Half Day Notes
Tuesday, November 22: Because of the holiday, there will be no Club Ed, no After Care, no AEP and no Enrich Annapolis classes. Early Childhood students will dismiss at 11:50 and Lower School and Middle School students will dismiss at 12:00.
Library Books
Please take a moment to check your house for overdue library books and return them to school. This helps us organize our shelves before Thanksgiving Break. Thank you!

Plant Sale

The annual Parents Association Poinsettia and Holiday Greens Sale is here! Help support the PA and buy your holiday greens today. Download an order form and return via kidmail to the PA mailbox no later than November 18. Orders can be picked up during Santa's Workshop on December 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 
Deliciously Nutritious

Be sure to place your orders for Wednesday PA lunch by the Sunday before lunch will be delivered. Ordering is available online.    

Like what's served on Wednesdays? Melissa Sherwood is hosting a Deliciously Nutious Cooking Class on Nov. 19th from 11-2 at Joy Reigns Lutheran church located at 45 Mayo Road.  The class is to teach delicious seasonal holiday cooking  with the emphasis on giving thanks. Contact Melissa Sherwood for more information.

Today we dressed down in orange to support Sarah McMahon, Class of 2009, who we are dedicating Sunday's 5K to. We've distributed ribbons, made cards, and today, we filmed this video for Sarah. Read about the rest of our preparations for Sunday's event on Patch.com.

5K Run/1 Mile Walk 

This year, St. Anne's School is dedicating our annual 5K Run/1 Mile Walk to Sarah McMahon (Class of 2009), who was recently diagnosed with AML, an aggressive form of leukemia. Please join the St. Anne's School community as we rally together to support Sarah. All donations will go directly to the Sarah McMahon Fund. Hope to see you Sunday!

Parent Education Series for Fourth Grade Parents

St. Anne's School has been privileged to guide the academic career of many of our Fourth Grade Leaders for several years. Now, these confident and capable students -and you-are on the precipice of an entirely new experience: Middle School! Join us to discuss together the building blocks we have put in place to help your child succeed in Middle School, the goals of an excellent Middle School program, and the particular ways in which we have tailored our Middle School program at St. Anne's School to foster success for your child over the next four years. Operation Christmas Child
Collection Week: November 14-21

Please help an Eighth Grade student fulfill part of her Capstone Project by participating in Operation Christmas Child.It is a global Christmas gift exchange project operated by Samaritan's Purse.Each November, Operation Christmas Child collects shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, personal items, candy, and other gifts. These boxes are then distributed as Christmas gifts to over 130 countries. Read More About How to Make a Box 

 

Dress Down Day
Friday, Nov. 18

Our next dress down day is Friday, November 18. Lower School students are invited to dress as their favorite character from a book and Middle School students will be wearing class colors: Fifth Grade - red, Sixth Grade - green, Seventh Grade - blue, Eighth Grade - purple.

Family Visiting Day
Monday, Nov. 21 - Open to Kindergarten - Eighth Grade!

Family members are invited to visit St. Anne's School on Monday, November 21. Drop-in for an hour or two to explore our program!

Grandfriends Day
Tuesday, Nov. 22 - Open to Kindergarten - Eighth Grade!

Grandfriends are invited to join us for continental breakfast, time for sharing, classroom visits and Thanksgiving Chapel on Tuesday, November 22. The program beings at 8:30 a.m. RSVP by November 16th to Hutchey Doley at 410.263.8650 x 116.

All members of the St. Anne's community are invited to Thanksgiving Chapel on Tuesday, November 22 at 11:00 a.m. Come celebrate this holiday with us!

Early Childhood Parent Breakfast
Friday December 2 - 8:00 a.m.

Mark your calendars for our Preschool and Prekindergarten Parent Breakfast!  On Friday, December 2nd , we invite parents to join us in the classroom for our Open House Breakfast from 8 -8:30 a.m. That morning, you may drop off your child on the playground and help yourself to some goodies in the EC hallway and visit your child's classroom. Please be aware that this time is for parents, so make childcare arrangements for younger siblings. 

Annual Fund Update:
Two Challenge Grants Announced
We are proud to announce TWO challenge grants for this year's Annual Fund.

First, the Board of Trustees will match up to $30,000 of new gifts - so that's any new gift or increase in giving from last year. This challenge will end on December 31, so make your pledge today!
 
One of the founders of the school, an alumni grandparent, has challenged other grandparents to increase their participation in the Annual Fund. If grandparent participation reaches 35% by December 31, an additional $10,000 will be added to the Annual Fund!
 
Goal: $300,000
Raised: $145,000 

 

Board Participation: 100% 

Staff Participation: 100%

Parent Participation: 29%

Grandparents: 17%
