| Yellow Jackets |
During late summer and fall, yellowjacket colonies are nearing maturity and workers are looking for food. With insect prey becoming scarce, yellowjackets are looking for other sources of nutrition. Fruits, ice cream, beer and soft drinks are all included, which are usually all present at picnics and outdoor activities.
Help alleviate the problem:
- Keep food/beverages covered until ready to use.
- Spills and leftover should be cleaned promptly.
- Keep trash cans/dumpsters sealed, away from tables and door or high traffic areas.
If you see yellowjackets going "in/out" of an area, avoid "swatting" or treating on your own. Yellowjackets will become more aggressive and treating may force the wasps inside! Call a professional...don't get stung!

Avoid Spring time beetles and flies NOW! |
Box elder beetles, cluster flies, lady beetles and stink bugs are classified as overwintering insects. These insects arrive at our homes in the fall, often in large numbers with the intent of spending the winter with you. These insects will often settle down for the winter beneath siding/shingles, in attics, soffits, porches, garages, wall voids and window and door frames.
A properly timed, preventative treatment of exterior walls and surfaces is one of the only methods to prevent these insects from calling your home, a winter vacation. Performing exclusion to foundation walls, under siding, around window and doors, vents, soffits and utility line entry points will prevent these invaders entry as well.
During late winter, early spring or a warm sunny day these insects are often noticed sluggishly flying about after emerging from these spots. Once inside, removing these insects with a vacuum or fly swatter are your best means.
Prevent a buggy spring, take action now before your window of opportunity closes. Learn more! |

Bats 101 | |
A single little brown bat can eat 1200 mosquitoes in an hour! Wow!
- At dusk, bats leave roosting areas to feed exiting through eaves, vents or behind shutters/siding.
- Large colonies produce noise announcing their presence.
- Droppings and dark brown stains may appear near eaves and around entrance holes and roosts.
- Most colonies of bats are small and often go unnoticed for many years. Bats become a nuisance due to noise and guano (droppings) accumulations.
Bat-Proofing: One of the simplest techniques for solving nuisance problems is removing bats and preventing their reentry.
- Humane removal of bats from their roosting area, by using a combination of exclusion methods to prevent their re-entry.
- Removing bat droppings from indoor roosts is important. A fungal disease, Histoplasmosis is associated with bat droppings once dry. Put safety first and leave the clean up to a professional.
Think you may have a bat problem? Let one of our trained specialists perform an inspection to determine the best remedy to fit your needs. |
