Evolving Our Relationships - A New Stage for the Rudolf Steiner Library and the Anthroposophical Society

Rudolf Steiner's 150th anniversary has catapulted us into the second century of anthroposophical work in the United States, inspiring us to create new ways to further connections and participation among members and friends.

You have long turned to the rich resources of the Rudolf Steiner Library to support your transformative inner work and practical activities, and the library is now poised to make those resources available in new ways. There are treasures in the library's collection waiting to be unearthed and shared, and new technologies make this possible.

For example, we're excited to report that a recent grant from the New York State Library Association will enable us to begin digitizing some of the important content in back issues of the society's Journal for Anthroposophy and share it online. We will also be creating study guides for groups and branches nationwide, on topics you indicate are of current interest to you.

We need your help to accomplish this! Special gifts, in addition to your already-generous support of the society's programs, will make it possible to develop the Rudolf Steiner Library into a multidimensional 21st-century resource.

Thank you!

New Books

Sexuality, Love, and Partnership: From the Perspective of Spiritual Science, Rudolf Steiner, compiled by Margaret Jonas, translation
revised by Christian von Arnim, Rudolf Steiner Press, 2011, 256 pgs.

In this new anthology, Rudolf Steiner describes the point in evolution when human beings split from being androgynous, single-sexed beings to becoming beings of male and female genders. He traces the changing roles of the sexes in society, from the matriarchal past to today's patriarchal dominance. The division of the sexes brings suffering, but also the possibility of achieving higher stages of love. In the distant future, humanity can evolve sexuality into a new form, with the possibility that even the process of reproduction will be transformed.

Anthroposophy A-Z: A Glossary of Terms Relating to Rudolf Steiner's Spiritual Philosophy, Henk van Oort, Rudolf Steiner Press, 2011, 144 pgs.

This practical volume provides concise definitions of many of the terms and concepts in Rudolf Steiner's work, from the most commonplace to the more obscure.
