Adoptions Up 44% in June

Adopted
Perdita - Adopted
We truly owe a debt of gratitude to our great staff and volunteers who have been working non-stop with our animals. In June, 50 animals were adopted compared to the same month last year, with only 28 adoptions. That's a whopping 44% increase! No question, the new building has brought animals to us that would have been roaming the streets, abandoned, or worse. Our new policy of not putting down animals to "make space" has created a "win-win" atmosphere with our staff and volunteers, who are committed to getting every adoptable animal into a new and happy home. Thanks to two volunteers, who pay our medical bills, we can offer adult dogs at a deep discount. Last month, we started a program offering our adult dogs and cats at "Name Your Price." We virtually emptied the house of all adult cats, thereby making room for more kittens. Come visit our cute, playful kittens and puppies. Of course, we welcome your support. Please make a donation today to help us continue to create a positive and compassionate home for our animals - they are waiting to to hear from you!

New Active Volunteer Program

We've hired Patti Schoen, our new Office Manager, who is committed to actively engaging our volunteers. Patti, assisted by board member Kim Avery, will begin contacting every volunteer to see how and when they can help. We need every interest level from front office reception, telephone coverage, tour guides, animal care, dog walkers, laundry, mail helpers to data entry. Please be patient as Patti or Kim will be contacting you in the next week or so. If you have not already set up a schedule, just let them know your interest and availability - days and hours. If you already know Patti, you'll agree she is very personable. You'll enjoy being a volunteer under her leadership. Please sign up today. Thank you. Our animals say thank you, too!
