This months life lesson is known as...
"The Rule of 5"
In a nutshell, the rule of 5 is simply doing 5 things for your break through goal every DAY. That's right, I said every day. If you complete 5 action steps every day the odds are in your favor that you are going to succeed, that you are going to hit something very powerful that works and moves you forward toward your goal. Last month, I used health/fitness and career as examples of break through goals so I will show you how the rule of 5 might look.
Five things you could do every day for health and fitness might be:
1. Drink water, not pop or coffee 2. Park further away, so you have to walk further 3. Don't eat any fast food 4. Get 8 hours of sleep each night 5. Exercise 6. Eat more fruits and vegetables 7. Cut out sweets
For your career, 5 things you could do daily might look like:
1. Read something in your field of work for at least 15 minutes every day 2. Work on a new skill, ie: computer software, typing skills 3. Learn more about the company and the options available for growth 4. Identify the 3 things you do that are the most productive and profitable for the company 5. Identify waste in the company and present solution to reduce or eliminate it 6. Put a new system in place to make the company more productive, profitable and efficient 7. Spend more quality time getting to know your co-workers 8. Ask your boss for feedback on how you can improve |
