Greetings!
Welcome to Louie's life lessons! This is my first installment of many insights that I will be sharing with you. My intention is to share the wisdom and understanding I have acquired on my journey in an effort to help you on your journey. So without further ado let's get started.
My desk sits in front of a window. That window gives me a clear view of everybody crossing the parking lot before they enter the door to my business. A couple of years ago I had the profound awareness that everybody coming through my door was the same. It didn't matter if it was a little old lady with a cane, a businessman in a fancy suit, a young mother with children, a young tattooed and pierced person or a blue collar worker in dirty jeans and a t-shirt. It didn't matter if they were driving a beat up pickup truck, a minivan, a sport utility vehicle, an expensive luxury import car or a middle-of-the-road 4-door sedan. They are and always will be in my eyes the same. We are fellow passengers on a spaceship called earth that is hurling through space and time. We are fellow inhabitants of the planet we call the world. We are all part of the infinite universe. I believe, we are all children of God, Buddha, Alia, Yahweh and a variety of other names too long to list here. What matters is that we are all in this together. |

So my lesson for this week is really very simple: "Practice appreciation for others" Every day this week, sincerely appreciate 5 different people, include at least one person who you don't know. Keep in mind 5 is the minimum! Keep score to see how you do. At the end of the day before you go to bed review your day and see how many people you appreciated.
P.S. Don't forget those dearest and closest to you. |
