De La Salle Students Volunteered at World Food Day at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center This community event enlisted thousands of volunteers to package nutritious rice/soy protein meals for people facing critical food shortages in sub-Saharan Africa. Meet Our "Star of the Month" Jayla S. - De La Salle Class of 2012
 | | Jayla with: teachers Mike Hall, Martha Altvater, and Alison Reed; President, Corey Quinn; and Principal, Phil Pusateri |
October's Star, Jayla S., was recognized for her abilities to make good choices and to consistently work hard.
What set her apart as Star of the Month was her reading. Since the start of the school year on August 30th, she has read 12 books, including two challenging historical novels about the American Revolutionary War.
De La Salle's "Star of the Month" Program recognizes one student each month for embodying the values of Lasallian education, including excellence both in and outside of the classroom. The Star of the Month is nominated by staff and selected by staff and students. Each month, this exemplary student is recognized during our Star of the Month celebration.
Please join us at our next Star Lunch on Friday, December 9th from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm. If you can't join us, click here to learn more about sponsoring one of our students. |
