Back-to-School Butterflies
 If you've ever visited De La Salle, you know that our students and staff strive to create a welcoming atmosphere here at our school. This Wednesday, I had the privilege of welcoming 57 students to our De La Salle community, including the two students pictured here. While the first-day butterflies were palpable - even for me - the faces of our newest recruits reflected excitement and anticipation as they listened to new teachers describe new ways to approach their learning.
Neither pictures nor words can adequately capture the De La Salle experience. So, it is my hope that you will take the opportunity this school year - our 10th! - to pay our students a visit and come see for yourself. What an opportunity you afford our young people to hone their social skills, share their triumphs and struggles, and cement their place within our community when you take an interest in their education.
Please take a moment now to mark your calendar for one of the Star Events listed below. Just showing up is a simple way to contribute your support for our mission. Our students are never more excited than when a crowd gathers for a Star Event, so feel free to bring a friend! Each event lasts about ninety minutes and includes a meal with our students, their parents, and other community members. You will also have the opportunity to hear the successes of each of our students and to meet our newest "Star of the Month".
Our students look forward to welcoming you upon your visit, and I look forward to the opportunity to thank you in person for your generous support as we celebrate our tenth year of empowering lives through education!
