Holiday Recap
| Happy 2011! We hope and pray that you and your family had a blessed Christmas and New Year. Our campers and their families were blessed this holiday season by our annual hope4christmas party. Through your generosity, each camper received a gift and a $50 Kroger gift certificate to go towards a Christmas dinner. Campers reunited with their counselors, parents learned more about kidz2leaders in a seperate meeting during the party, and everyone enjoyed singing Christmas carols. Later in December, four Camp Hope families in need were also generously sponsored for Christmas.
On December 27, 15 campers (all who graduated from Leadership to be counselors next summer) and 6 adults embarked on an adventure to Washington, DC. Flying was a new experience for most of the group and for 14 of the students, their first visit to our nation's capitol. From the time the group arrived in D.C. until returning to Atlanta on December 30, they were busy sightseeing including the Capitol, The National Archives, The International Spy Museum, The Holocaust Museum and much more. Check out our blog and Facebook page for more pictures from the trip. This is what the kids had to say about the trip: "This was a once in a lifetime chance." "I've had so much fun and done so many things I never thought I would do." "It was a great experience and you truly have put a smile on each and everyone's face that came. Thank you so much!"

interns4tomorrow News

11 new interns have been accepted into the program for the 2010-2011 year. The first meeting was held on the MLK Holiday. Over the next 4 months, the new interns will meet monthly to prepare them for their summer internships in. A college tour of Kennesaw State University is planned for February.

Over the Christmas break, 21 interns including the new and the older interns attended a field trip to V-103 and Dave92FM. They met radio celebrities and saw the recording studios. Personnel from the stations made presentations on their jobs and how they got into their careers. After the tour, the group traveled to The Coca-Cola Company worldwide headquarters for lunch. The interns liked best the drink machines where they could mix multiple types of soft drinks to make one drink.
