Patriot Day, 9/11 Remembrance and Celebration of Patriots

September 8th at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Civic Center

Special Commemorative Ceremony at 11 a.m.

September 11, 2012, marks the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that killed 2,977 Americans. While our daily lives have changed in many ways as a result of the attacks, our resolve to be proud supporters and defenders of our country has solidified. Those that died on that fateful day, those that risk their lives both at home and abroad, and those that support and remember these individuals are all "patriots".

The City of Rancho Santa Margarita is proud to host a Patriot Day remembrance and ceremony on September 8th at 10:00 a.m. at the Civic Center. Our local heroes, the first responders from the Orange County Sheriff's Department and the Orange County Fire Authority, will be on hand in abundance to be honored for their commitment to the safety of our community. We are also commemorating the imminent homecoming of our adopted 2/5 military unit that will be arriving home to Camp Pendleton throughout the month of September. We invite residents of all ages to join us as we thank and recognize our local and national heroes and remember the victims of 9/11 in a heartfelt ceremony.

For more information about Patriot Day, visit the City's website at www.cityofrsm.org.

Sincerely,

Jennifer M. Cervantez
