Spring Cleaning is in the Air
It's a Great Time to Recycle Unwanted Items Spring is traditionally a time for families to open up the windows and clear out the winter cobwebs. While doing your spring cleaning remember these ideas: Donate gently used items that you no longer need to Goodwill, South County Outreach, Laura's House, or other favorite charity. Donate magazines that you have finished reading to the City's adopted Marine battalion. The City is collecting magazines for single marines of the battalion who are expected to return home from Afghanistan at the end of the summer. Contact Christine Groves at cgroves@cityofrsm.org for more information. Dispose of e-waste and other hazardous materials at one of the OC Household Hazardous Waste Facilities in San Juan Capistrano (32250 La Pata Ave) and Irvine (6411 Oak Canyon). Place your unusable items curbside during CR&R's Spring Clean-up during the week of May 7-11. Check your billing statement and the City's website in early May for more information. When you are finished with your spring cleaning, go for a walk or bike ride and enjoy the beautiful community we call home. For more information, visit the City's website at www.cityofrsm.org. |

Keeping RSM Streets Clean
We Need Your Help
Street sweeping is an effective way to prevent street pollutants from entering our storm drains, watersheds, and beaches. In fact, in Rancho Santa Margarita an average of 33 tons of debris is removed every month and is recycled in a local green waste facility.
Major streets in town are swept weekly and residential streets are swept every two weeks. Unfortunately, vehicles left parked on the side of the road restrict sweepers from fully cleaning the streets. By simply moving your car on street sweeping day, you can help remove debris that would have gone to the storm drain and into the ocean.
To verify your street sweeping day, find your street on the map on the City's website by clicking here. For more information, please call the Public Works Department 949.635.1800.
