Summer is Around the Corner

The month of June in most of Southern California is often associated with being "gloomy" as in the "June gloom"; but in Rancho Santa Margarita it's truly the beginning of summer. The signs of summer are all around our community as children are finishing the school year and summer camps start getting into full swing.  Weddings and other special occasions will be celebrated at the Bell Tower Regional Community Center and our Civic Center lights up in the evenings and weekends. The various parks in the community will be full of picnics, fun, and family activities; including skateboarders and our four-legged friends at Canada Vista Park. In July, plan on attending the very popular summer concert series; as it returns on Sunday evenings at Central Park.

Be sure to look through the summer Community Living Magazine or visit the city's website, www.cityofrsm.org, for more information about all the family fun and activities that help make Rancho Santa Margarita a great place to live, work, and play.

Enjoy the summer.

Report Graffiti Vandalism Quickly and Safelypurple flower

Keep Our Community Beautiful

Graffiti, like everything else, comes in waves and  Rancho Santa Margarita has historically experienced a wave of graffiti vandalism during the summer.

To keep our community safe and beautiful, we encourage all residents to report graffiti as quickly as possible using the following guidelines:

 - If you actually see graffiti vandalism in progress, please call the police at 949.770.6011 immediately with as much detail about the area, street name, and vandals as possible. Do not approach or confront the vandal yourself. While catching vandals is significant, your personal safety is of the utmost importance.

 - If you observe graffiti with no vandals in the area, please report it to the Public Works Department at 949.635.1800, extension 6501. Public Works staff will work to have the graffiti removed in a timely manner.

Remember: Report graffiti quickly, but safely.

Did you know? Rancho Santa Margarita Police Services participates in an Orange County Sheriff's Department program called Tracking Automated Graffiti Reporting System (TAGRS) in which all graffiti is photographed and documented and entered into the TAGRS database. This database helps to track and link incidents throughout Orange County and aids in the investigation and prosecution of graffiti vandals.
