City Manager's Message
Steve Hayman

The City Council and City Staff are in the business of public service. We strive to provide the best service in the most effective and fiscally responsible manner. To do this, we constantly evaluate our efforts to ensure that we are meeting the needs of residents and businesses in Rancho Santa Margarita. One of the best ways to evaluate our services is to listen to the people we serve.

This month, in our February survey, we are asking you to tell us about your experience at our annual signature event - New Year's Eve "Celebrating Family and Friends. Click "Let Your Voice Be Heard" on the right side of the City's homepage and take a few minutes to answer questions that will allow us to better serve you. Your answers will help us make this special event even better.

To open another line of communication, Mayor Beall has brought back the "Ask the Mayor" program. If you have a question for the Mayor you can click on his picture located on the right side of the City's home page and complete the electronic form. All questions will be read by the Mayor and answered promptly.

The City Council and staff do listen to your comments. In fact, we get many questions about Mello-Roos tax assessments so the City audited the bonds in 2007 and is working to update the audit this Spring. The information gathered during the audit is posted on the City's website and a new search tool has just been added. Now you can search for Mello-Roos assessments by address. Click here to try it.

I hope you explore and use these tools to let us know how we are doing.

Sincerely,
Steven E. Hayman

New Mello-Roos Tax Information Search Tool

City Offers New Feature On Website

In 2007, the City prepared an audit of the Mello-Roos CFD tax assessments for properties in Rancho Santa Margarita. An update to that audit will be completed in Spring 2011. To make the information more accessible, the City developed a search tool that allows the public to find CFD assessments by address.

For more information and to use the search tool, visit the City's website at www.cityofrsm.org.
