City Manager's Message
Steve Hayman

Rancho Santa Margarita is a "small city with the soul of a village." This motto suggests a lot of things to a lot of people, but for many it's about the ability to work, play, and shop right here in town. The city council has a commitment to ensuring that the services and retail stores that residents enjoy are here and patronized. The city has an Economic Development Committee, made up of current business owners, city staff, and city council members. Their mission is to attract new businesses and to help current business in any way possible to succeed here.

Engaging the community is another important element in making certain the correct mix of retail stores and services are available in RSM. To that end, the topic of this month's "Let Your Voice Be Heard" monthly survey is shopping in RSM.  Take the survey and tell us which retail stores and services in RSM are your favorites, which stores you would like to have here, and what activities you currently go outside of the city to do that you would like to do in RSM.

You can find the survey on the homepage of the city's website. I encourage and thank you for participating in our surveys. We (city council and staff) are listening and we keep your comments in mind when making decisions.

Have a great summer working, playing and shopping in Rancho Santa Margarita.

Melinda Heights Area Slurry Seal
Could Cause Minor Traffic Delays

Several residential streets near Melinda Road will be slurry sealed beginning near the end of August and finishing in September. Residents on the affected streets will be notified at least two weeks prior to work commencement. The slurry seal process requires that the street be closed from 8 a.m. until the contractor removes the traffic control devices later the same day.

A successful street maintenance program depends on your cooperation. Please remove all cars from the affected street and remain off the street until it is re-opened.

For more information about the project please contact the Public Works Department at 949.635.1800, extension 6506.
