Furniture handcrafted from fine woods...
real wood...from real trees...
The log above was sawn from a Pennsylvania cherry tree that we had obtained from a client in Millersville, Pennsylvania. The white sticks that separate the boards are called "stickers", they allow air to circulate between the boards as they dry. This stack of wood is referred to as being "In the Boule", aka, all boards from the same log, stacked in sequence.

Of all the traits that will differentiate our furniture from that which you will find in a typical furniture store is the fact that we use solid wood to craft our pieces. Not just for the front, but for the entire piece, even the backs. Our furniture is made of boards from trees, not particleboard from plywood factories. In addition, our furniture is made by our cabinetmakers...right here in Lititz, PA, in the good old USA!
Furniture crafted by The Shaker Shoppe will be giving back to the family that invested it it for years to come. It is not of the disposable variety that is being imported into this country's furniture stores from lands afar, but true, heirloom-quality pieces that will age with grace and last for generations.
We procure select domestic woods such as Cherry, Tiger Maple & Sugar Pine to craft our pieces. We only purchase from suppliers utilizing sustainable forestry methods to insure that this wonderful resource, we call wood, will be available for many years to come. Our Cherry & Tiger Maple is sourced from Pennsylvania sawmills, and our Sugar Pine is grown in Northern California.
Solid wood is a fully renewable resource, and we are honored to work with it. Wood is an extraordinary medium. In fact, no other building material can compare with the ability of wood to conserve energy, have a positive impact on global climate changes and beautify your home. Net annual growth for our nation's commercial forests exceeds harvests and losses to insects and disease by an impressive 50 percent each year. In other words, trees in our country are growing faster than they are being used.

A kitchen crafted by us will not look like your neighbors...that's because a kitchen crafted by The Shaker Shoppe is far from typical. It's custom made for you.
This beautiful kitchen was crafted out of Tiger Maple for a client in Manheim, Pennsylvania late last year. The finish is our "honey" color, the sink, counters & backsplash are done in soapstone. The cabinet to the left of the sink is the dishwasher!

Many folks who come to Lititz to visit our showroom, are surprised & delighted when they see the full kitchen on display amidst the furniture that we make. The fact is, The Shaker Shoppe Inc. is a spring off of a business that we formed in 1981 that specialized in fine, handcrafted kitchens.
We offer complete in-house designs on all kitchens and pride ourselves with having the ability to offer our clients the latest in conveniences and materials for the kitchen that are available. From stone & solid-surface counters, to just about every storage idea imaginable.
