IAM&AW LL2339N News
Friday August 6, 2010
Greetings!

Today, we face yet another uncertainty in our industry.  Early Wednesday morning, a press release was issued indicating ExpressJet has accepted an agreement from Skywest to purchase ExpressJet and plans to merge ExpressJet with Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA).  Atlantic Southeast Airlines is currently under the representation of the AFA which puts ExpressJet flight attendants in a very similar position to that of Continental flight attendants in the UA/CO merger.  I want to once again remind every member that NOW is our time we must unite and put any differences we may have to the side in order to secure the future of all of our flight attendants here at LL2339-N.  Whether you work for ExpressJet or Continental we are all in this together as brothers and sisters in LL2339 and we look forward to your involvement.  The best way to begin to get involved is by attending your monthly Local Lodge business meeting the second Tuesday of every month at 3pm at the Renaissance Hotel.

ASAExpressJetXJT/ASA Merger Update

Just this morning your IAM representatives
met with the company regarding the ASA/ExpressJet merger.

As expected there was not much specific information provided and basically what had already been released in the news was just reiterated.  They have made a commitment to keep the IAM & AW informed as any updates occur and we make that same commitment to our membership.  We are currently attempting to schedule a meeting with Skywest to discuss the intentions and implications of this proposed merger.  ExpressJet has agreed to continue contract negotiations as planned and should be scheduling our first meeting for those negotiations within the next month.  Look for more updates soon and for more detailed information available at the Local Lodge business meeting August 10th at 3pm at the Renaissance Hotel

CAL Negotiation Update
CAL Negotiations
Your CAL Negotiation team is continuing to work hard to reach an agreement with the company.  We will be meeting again from August 16th-27th and plan to dedicate as much of our time that is necessary to improve the lives of our flight attendants by securing an agreement that will improve on our already industry leading contract.

Sincerely,
