Greetings!
Your primary officers ( Joey Guider, Michael Becerra, Vanessa Boyd,
Shaun McNulty) along with grievance rep (Julie HIll) and communicator
(Sara Gonzales) have just returned from the Merger Summit at the IAM Winpsinger Educational Center in
Maryland held earlier this week. By attending, we had an opportunity like no other to be
one on one with Mike Bonds (Vice President/Hr CO) and Doug McKeen (Vice
President/HR UAL) to engage them with questions that our members have
on the merger. We have been reviewing the Railway Labor
Act (RLA) election process time line and how it pertains to us by being
represented by a union. By weeks end we had classes
addressing communication skills, organizing, social networking,
contract comparison, Leadership and identifying the next step to a
better understanding of the merger process. We were united with the officers and representatives from Houston, Guam and Cleveland along with all District Lodge and Grand Lodge Staff from all departments including General Vice President Robert Roach Jr. and International President Thomas R. Buffenbarger.
Today we continue to seek answers for yesterdays questions. This
process will be tedious all the way through. We want to continue
asking that you seek factual information so you can make sound
decisions. Your Executive Board and grievance reps will continue
educating themselves through training that is made available. All of
us thank you for the continued support of your elected reps and Union. Take time on July 13 3pm to talk face to face with local, district and
grand lodge reps at the Renaissance Hotel.
