Greetings!
With the announcement of the anticipated merger with United Airlines,
your Union continues to serve you by developing plans to protect our
Flight Attendant work group. This merger announcement does not halt any part of the grievance or
contract negotiation process and they will continue as normal. The
Grand and District Lodges continue working with our Local Lodge to develop "Hot Reads" to keep you in the know as new information is available.
The Local continues its involvement in the community. This month we joined forces with the Airline Alliance in NYC for the
Aids Walk. The time spent with each other continues to allow for
new ideas and greater involvement. Your Union needs you to get
involved so you can be an ambassador to educate as this process
continues. Start by committing yourself to attending the lodge business meetings next one is on June 8th, at 3pm Renaissance Hotel and participating on a committee.
We will continue to work diligently on your behalf and keep you
informed with factual information about the proposed merger as details
come available.

IAM GVP Robert Roach Jr. will testify at the Senate Aviation
Subcommittee Hearing on the United/Continental Merger
 IAM General Vice President Robert Roach Jr. will be testifying at the
hearing listed below. He will be conveying the message to the Senators
that employee interests such as pensions and seniority must be
protected in any merger, and that employees have already given billions
in concessions to keep these airlines afloat.
We ask for you to join us to show our unity and support. If you like to attend please wear full uniforms to display our unity.

Next Business Meeting June 8th 
Reminder June 8th, 2010 is Election Day for the District Lodge 142 Officer Election. Polls are OPEN from 9am to 5pm at the Renaissance Hotel.
Also our regular business meeting is at 3pm at the same place. Click on the picture to the left for all meeting details and to let us know your coming. Light snacks and beverages will be served.
