Greetings!
The monthly meeting provided members a great opportunity to be able to ask questions in regards to all that is happening and receive answers from all levels of the IAM. We were able to bring and gather people from the National Pension Plan, the Grand Lodge Economist and all your District Lodge representatives to provide the knowledge on how things will proceed going forward. This was a chance to mingle with your fellow flight attendants, enjoy snacks, and build unity in our fight to provide and protect what we have. Your grievance representatives will continue to managing the day to day tasks of enforcing your collective bargaining agreements. Negotiations are scheduled to continue as promised. We are working to make information available when the correct answers are provided.
The Locals, District, and Grand Lodge have made a commitment to each other to communicate to ensure the same and accurate information is decimated to all. Yesterdays announcement does not provide today's answers. Your local E-Board along with all the union officers and representatives are committed to protecting your way of life and providing for the groups going forward. This is our time as a cohesive group to educate each other and our counterparts on what our contract provides. Your union the IAM has been through mergers in the past and has decades of experience. The IAM is ready for the fight with you standing together. Don't sit on the sidelines waiting for someone to FaceBook, text, or call, come out and get involved. We as always encourage you to join us at the next business meeting June 8th, 2010 3:00pm Renaissance Hotel.
If you have requested an absentee ballot for the June 8th District Lodge Election they have been mailed out and should be arriving at your home in the next few days if they have not yet arrived. Please be sure to mail them back as soon as you get them. If you did not request an absentee ballot then you must vote in person June 8th, 2010 Renaissance Hotel from 9am to 5pm.

AIDS Walk NYC
GRAB your walking shoes and join your Local Lodge representatives and fellow members on Sunday May 16th for the NYC AIDS Walk sponsored by your Legislative Committee Chris Boelens and Vice President Michael Becerra. There will be transportation provided leaving Terminal C International Departures Elite Access Door at 6:30AM. A light breakfast will also be provided upon arrival to the City. There is absolutely no better time to hold hands now and join in the fight at our hometown.
