Wisconsin's Premiere Fire and Water Restoration Contractor

Since 1973

Hello Friend of Kelmann!

It's been an extraordinary few months in our industry. The fury of Hurricane Irene really took out her wrath on the east coast. Many of our DKI member contractors traveled east to help the families, businesses, churches and schools impacted by wind and water. The strength of DKI is really demonstrated during catastrophic events such as Irene. We are so very proud to be affiliated with this group. So read on. See what's happening at Kelmann Corporation, a DKI member company!

Even At Thanksgiving, It's Safety First!

Thanksgiving: for most, this means Family, Friends, Food and Football! Unfortunately, for far too many folks this holiday season, an unwanted visitor will join this list: Fire. According to information supplied on the Safe Kids USA website, Thanksgiving fires in residential structures cause more damage to property and claim more lives than residential fires on other days.

Please remember the following Thanksgiving Fire And Child Safety Tips:

  1. Never leave hot food or appliances unattended while cooking.
  2. Always be alert when cooking. Do not cook under the influence of medication or alcohol.
  3. Keep anything that can catch on fire at least three feet from the stove, toaster oven or other heat source.
  4. Keep the stovetop, burners and oven clean.
  5. Do not wear loose fitting clothes that can catch fire if they come too close to a burner.
  6. For recipes that require frying, grilling or broiling food, stay in the kitchen. When baking or simmering foods, check food frequently.
  7. Create a three-foot "Kid Free Zone" around the stove.
  8. Never hold a child while cooking, drinking or carrying hot foods or liquids.
  9. Young children should be more than three feet from any place where there is hot food, drinks, pans or trays.
  10. Hot items should be kept from the edge of counters and tables.
Everyone at Kelmann wishes you and yours a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
