Greetings!
Borrowers who have a history of paying rent on time may see a boost to their credit score. Experian, a leading credit report company, added a section to its credit reports last year that reflected on-time rent payments, which helped give a boost in the credit scores to some on-time rent payers. Now the two other major credit reporting companies are following suit. CoreLogic and FICO recently announced they are also adding a score that reflects payment histories from landlords, The New York Times reports.

2012 Legislative Session: What's on the Agenda
The 2012 legislative convened Monday, January 9th, with the Governor's State of the State Address, but work has been going on throughout the year in interim committees and exploring legislative ideas. Last week there was a presentations made to the Economic Outlook and Revenue Assessment Committee, including a report from IAR on the state of the real estate industry. The Committee is seeking industry information to help evaluate the Governor's revenue forecasts for the current and following fiscal year, which is very important to understanding of the overall economy and revenue to the state.
One of the critical issues affecting the cost of housing is sales tax on services, which would include your already taxed real estate commissions.

2012 Marks Another Ethics Deadline

For many of us, it is hard to believe that another four year cycle is ready to end.
The four year cycle I am referencing is the requirement for all REALTORŪ members (licensees and appraisers) to complete an ethics class on the REALTORŪ Code of Ethics.
This cycle began January 1, 2009 and will end on December 31, 2012. You must have completed an ethics course within that timeframe or your membership status may be jeopardized.
Meeting the requirement is easy! You can take it online FOR FREE (but no CE) at www.realtor.org. You can also take a course in person. We offer a 3-hour CE Ethics course every month for $15.
Get it done now and beat the rush at the end of 2012! See you in class!
