Greetings!
There is a lot of chatter about BSU joining the Mountain West and the benefits for the program. But, for Idaho, BSU provides more than just a great football team. When people on the east coast think of Idaho, they think of potatoes and Iowa. The success of the football team adds another component to Idaho - there might actually be something more to this place. When people and businesses come to Idaho they are here to decide where to live, where to start their business, where to build a company. When they make the move end up loving our recreation, the people, weather, the quality of life - they want to come here.
While the community is sadden by the loss of BSU not joining Mountain West and the Vandals held a moment of silence they were so choked up by the announcement. The important thing to remember is both schools do their part to increase public awareness for the state whether it's blue football fields or research.
As both schools gear up for a new season ACAR continues to make economic development a focus by working with the Boise Valley Economic Partnership to attract businesses to Idaho, working with our Congressional delegation on getting the F-35 Mission to Idaho and protecting businesses from being over-taxed through our legislative successes. |

Idaho Housing and Finance Association launches new program
The Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) has launched a new program to make homeownership a reality through its IdaMortgage program. The new Affordable Advantage Loan offers a down payment as low as $1,000, and has no mortgage insurance requirment, saving qualified borrowers money on the morgage payment every month.
"This IHFA exclusive financing option is a great tool for homebuyers as the housing market in Idaho continues its recovery," said Gerald Hunter, IHFA president and executive director. "It offers another affordable lending option for low- to moderate-income homebuyers across the state."
