The Daily 01 June 2010 FEAST of SAINT JUSTIN
| As patron of philosophers, Justin may inspire us to use our natural powers (especially our power to know and understand) in the service of Christ and to build up the Christian life within us. Since we are prone to error, especially in reference to the deep questions concerning life and existence, we should also be willing to correct and check our natural thinking in light of religious truth. Thus we will be able to say with the learned saints of the Church: I believe in order to understand, and I understand in order to believe. |

Congratulations to The Class of 2010

"I leave you now with this prayer.
That the Lord Jesus will reveal Himself to each one of you, that He will
give you the strength to go out and profess that you are Christians, that He
will show you that He alone can fill your hearts. Accept His Freedom and embrace His truth, and
be messengers of the certainty that you have been truly liberated through the
death and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
This will be the new experience, the powerful experience, that will generate
through you, a more just society and a better world. God Bless you and may the joy of Jesus be
always with you."
Pope John Paul II 1920-2005

The deadline for students to turn in their documentation for our required yearly service hours has passed (May 1). Many students are already serving their community for next years' required 25 hours of service. We have managed and processed those hours for graduating seniors. This week, we will be sending out notices for freshmen-juniors who have not met their 2009-2010 service expectation.
Students who have not completed their required hours and turned in their documentation by next week will begin serving "additional" hours at school on May 26th starting at 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and May 27th until 10 additional hours are completed. The hours remaining for this year will be added to next years' requirement. Students will not be permitted to participate in extra-curricular activities (summer workouts) until all hours are managed and brought up to date. We are hoping our newly revised service portfolio, scheduled for implementation next year and currently available at (Service Learning Portfolio & Service Learning Verification) will assist in the timely completion of students' service hours. Please contact our Office of Academic Affairs for more information.

With Prayerful Thoughts
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this
vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy
toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of
thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.
Please pray for: Joyce Scully Sara Rusboldt '05 Mary Quinlan Amy Esmoer '86 Renbarger Mary Lou Meell Colleen Kennedy Shirley White |
