The Daily 11 May 2010 FEAST of SAINT IGNATIUS of LACONI
| Why did the people of Cagliari support the friars? These followers of Francis worked hard but rarely at jobs that paid enough to live on. Under these conditions St. Francis allowed them to beg. The life of Ignatius reminds us that everything God considers worthwhile does not have a high-paying salary attached to it. |

The deadline for students to turn in their documentation for our required yearly service hours has passed (May 1). Many students are already serving their community for next years' required 25 hours of service. We have managed and processed those hours for graduating seniors. This week, we will be sending out notices for freshmen-juniors who have not met their 2009-2010 service expectation.
Students who have not completed their required hours and turned in their documentation by next week will begin serving "additional" hours at school on May 26th starting at 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and May 27th until 10 additional hours are completed. The hours remaining for this year will be added to next years' requirement. Students will not be permitted to participate in extra-curricular activities (summer workouts) until all hours are managed and brought up to date. We are hoping our newly revised service portfolio, scheduled for implementation next year and currently available at (Service Learning Portfolio & Service Learning Verification) will assist in the timely completion of students' service hours. Please contact our Office of Academic Affairs for more information.
